Daniel Riemenschneider, Principal, CLA
Dan is the co-leader of CLA Eastern Ohio’s construction practice and focuses on tax compliance and planning for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and individuals - primarily in the construction and construction supply industries. He also has extensive experience with employee benefits, retirement plans, and international tax.
Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a minor in data processing from The University of Akron (UA). He is a member and past chairman of the School of Accountancy Executive Advisory Board and was a 2017 recipient of the Dr. Frank L. Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award from UA’s College of Business. He and his beautiful wife Carol have been avid supporters of and season ticket holders for basketball, soccer, and football since 1988.
Dan has been a member of the Akron Rotary Club for 21 years, has served as Treasurer on the Akron Rotary Foundation Board and was previously chairman of the Membership Committee. Dan currently serves as a financial advisor to the Akron Rotary Foundation board of trustees.
Dan may be one of the first people you see at Akron Rotary’s Chili Open Golf Classic sponsored by Wayne Homes that benefits the Akron Rotary Camp. Thanks to Jim Eckelberry a long time ago, Dan, along with members of the University of Akron’s Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) Fraternity, have been parking cars since 2000. He has also been involved in planning, Friday set-up, campership, and security committees for the Wayne Homes Chili Open for 20 plus years.
Dan is President of the University Hospitals - Portage Medical Center Foundation. Dan has been a “Top Walker” the past 18 years for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. He served on Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Parish athletic board and coached IHM sports teams for 15 years.
Dan is a native of Rootstown, Ohio. Dan and Carol reside in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and have three children.
