2023 Ambassador of Service:

Bob Beiswenger

Bob Beiswenger - Akron Tractor

Bob Beiswenger has been volunteering for the Chili Open for the past 15 years.  Every year he generously donates the Kubotas and other equipment from Akron Tractor that allows us to turn Hale Farm into Chili Open golf greens.  He also spends countless hours helping set up courses and on snowy years Bob is here even days earlier moving snow in the fields so we can maneuver the courses.  One of Bob’s favorite aspects of the Chili Open is the Chili Eating Contest that is sponsored by Akron Tractor, as well.

Bob is a generous leader and volunteer in our community.  He has been volunteering for the Akron Area YMCA since 1995 where he served on the Camp Y-Noah advisory board.  He is currently a trustee for the Akron YMCA Association.  Bob’s involvement with the Y started as an Indian Princess dad.  His expertise has led to help facilitate many projects including Camp Y-Noah’s spillway replacement and forestry management plan.  Bob has always been very active in financially supporting Y programs – from selling Chili Open raffle tickets, to donations of equipment for various projects, to fundraising for the Safety Around Water initiative.  Bob was awarded the Hunsicker Service to Youth Award from the Akron Area YMCA in 2022.

Bob’s father started Akron Tractor & Equipment in 1964 and Bob started working there at the ripe young age of three.  He swam for Copley High School and the University of Akron, where Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.  He has been the President of Akron Tractor since 1995 after his father suddenly passed away.  He currently works with his son, Bobby, at the family business.  Bob has served on both New Holland and Kubota National Dealer Advisory Boards and is involved in many equipment industry associations.

Bob lives in Akron with his wife of 34 year, Robin, and daughter, Ashlei.  He enjoys hunting and fishing and operating equipment on their family property with Bobby.
