YEAR-ROUND RIDING LESSONS

We offer a riding program specially tailored to teaching and training riders who wish to further their riding skills.

Lessons are available year-round in six or eight week sessions in our indoor and outdoor riding arenas (located at 6801 Christman Road) from beginner to advanced level riders in both English and Western riding styles.

Students are evaluated by our staff and placed into the appropriate riding level.

Lessons are one hour in duration and include riding skills, horsemanship, and horse care.

30-minute lead line lessons are available for younger students.

Final Payment Policy: All balances for Lessons must be paid in full at a minimum of 2 weeks before your Lesson session. We cannot hold a rider’s spot if the balance is unpaid.  The rider’s spot will be given to the next rider on the waitlist.

Refunds/Changing/Cancellations: Upon registration, a non-refundable $75 deposit is due for the lesson session. If you cancel  your registration over 2 weeks before the session start date, you will receive everything paid but the $75 non-refundable deposit. If you cancel within the 2-weeks period before the session starts or do not attend, no refunds will be given.

Extended Payments - Camp Y-Noah is proud to offer a variety of extended payment options including weekly drafts from your credit card, debit card, or checking account.

Scholarships - Scholarships are available to those who qualify. Applications are available by calling the Main Camp Office at (330) 896-1964. Please allow a minimum of 3 business days to process applications.

Equipment - Riding lesson students should come to their lesson in weather appropriate clothing, long pants, and shoes/boots with a little bit of a heel. If your rider does not own a helmet, CYN has helmets of all sizes that student may borrow for the duration of their lesson. However, if you are looking to purchase boots, a helmet, or other supplies, visit Big Dee's! If you purchase anything at Big Dee's, they will give 5% back to the Equestrian Center. This is good year round, so be sure to mention YMCA Camp Y-Noah when you purchase online or in store

Make Up Lessons - Students will receive a gift certificate for a trail ride as a make up lesson. This covers ONE missed class--any absences beyond this will be forfeited.

Cancellations - On rare occasions, the equestrian center is forced to cancel lessons due to extreme weather conditions (lighting, storm warnings, extreme low/high temps). In such an event, the instructor or staff member will notify riders and the lesson will be rescheduled for a later date.
